Sea Moss: A naturally ocean grown superfood
Irish Sea Moss Gel is a type of red seaweed, most commonly Eucheuma Cottonii and Gracilaria that thrives along warm, pristine tropical coastlines. For centuries, coastal communities have harvested, prepared, and enjoyed it as a nourishing part of their daily diet and cultural traditions.
Naturally rich in minerals, plant compounds, and fibre, Sea Moss has a smooth, gel-like texture that makes it incredibly versatile and easy to incorporate into both food and drinks. Today, it is increasingly recognised worldwide as a simple and sustainable way to reconnect with ocean-grown nutrition and bring more variety into modern living.
What is Sea Moss?
Sea Moss is a nutrient-rich sea vegetable that naturally occurs in several varieties, Gold, Purple, Green, and Red. Thanks to its wide range of wellness benefits, it is most commonly used as a natural daily supplement.
Growing in both tropical and colder oceans, Sea Moss is an edible marine plant similar to seaweed, algae, and other ocean-grown vegetables like kelp. Although technically an algae, its appearance closely resembles traditional seaweed.
Each variety is considered potent and pure, containing an impressive spectrum of minerals essential for supporting the body’s optimal function.
There are three primary Sea Moss species, Eucheuma Cottonii, Gracilaria, and Chondrus Crispus (Irish Moss). While closely related and offering similar benefits, each type carries a slightly different flavour profile.
Where does our Sea Moss come from?
Sea Moss can be found around the world, growing naturally in warm tropical waters of the Caribbean as well as in the cooler regions of the North Atlantic, including Ireland and Canada.
Our Sea Moss is sourced exclusively from the pristine, mineral-rich shores of the Irish coast. We personally partnered with a dedicated local farmer who sustainably harvests Sea Moss only for us, ensuring unmatched purity, freshness, and traceability in every batch.
